ActionAid Nigeria is inviting applications from qualified candidates to fill the Finance Intern, SCALE-NSR position.
Below is the job description for the role:
Job Title: Finance Intern
Location: Abuja
Responsible to: Finance Advisor, SCALE-NSR
Job Purpose:
The Finance Intern will assist the Finance Advisor in the maintenance of adequate financial integrity in supporting quality and timely data input for generation of financial reports, review and analyze accounting ledgers. S/he will also contribute to strengthening the internal control and accounting systems of ActionAid Nigeria and partner organizations.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the Finance Advisor in budget preparation, forecasting, and implementation in line with EU and other donor requirements.
- Support in the preparation and submission of timely and accurate financial reports to donors and internal stakeholders.
- Support in the review, analysis, and reconciliation of accounting ledgers to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Support in monthly reconciliation of project expenditures and correct classification in management accounts.
- Maintain the integrity and accuracy of all ledger balances.
- Facilitate timely release of funds to partner organisations.
- Track, receive, and properly file hard copy partner financial reports.
- Provide financial support to fundraising and proposal writing for the organization.
- Help to monitor and review staff advances, retirements, and post hold journals.
- Any other duties assigned by line manager.
Persons Specifications
Education/Qualifications
- First degree in Accounting/Finance/Banking/Economics or related field.
Experience
- Minimum of 1 year Finance / accounting experience in a similar or private sector
